Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of the OpsMerge platform (“Service”) provided by Direct IT Services UK Ltd, trading as OpsMerge. This AUP forms part of and is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may update this policy from time to time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
1. Permitted Use
OpsMerge is designed for legitimate IT documentation and operational management purposes within MSP (Managed Service Provider) business operations. Permitted uses include:
- Creating and managing IT documentation for your organisation and managed clients.
- Storing network configurations, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and technical reference material.
- Managing client records, contact information, and asset inventories relevant to IT service delivery.
- Collaborating with team members on documentation within your organisation’s tenant.
- Using the API for integrations with other business tools in accordance with any applicable API terms.
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Service for any of the following activities:
2.1 Illegal Content and Activities
- Storing, distributing, or facilitating any content that is unlawful under the laws of England and Wales or any other applicable jurisdiction.
- Using the Service to facilitate or promote illegal activities, including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, or trafficking.
2.2 Malicious Software and Code
- Uploading, storing, or distributing malware, viruses, trojan horses, ransomware, spyware, worms, or any other malicious or harmful code.
- Using the Service to conduct or facilitate cyberattacks against any system or network.
2.3 Security Violations
- Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system without prior written authorisation.
- Attempting to access, view, or modify data belonging to other tenants or customers.
- Circumventing or attempting to circumvent any security measures, access controls, or authentication mechanisms.
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
2.4 Excessive Automated Access
- Using automated tools, scripts, or bots to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use or places undue burden on our infrastructure, without a separate API agreement.
- Scraping, crawling, or harvesting data from the Service by automated means without authorisation.
2.5 Regulated Data
- Storing PCI-DSS cardholder data (primary account numbers, card verification values, PIN data) without appropriate controls and a separate written agreement.
- Storing healthcare data subject to specific regulatory requirements (such as patient health records) without appropriate controls and a separate written agreement.
- Storing classified government information or other data subject to specific handling requirements beyond standard commercial security controls.
2.6 Reselling and Unauthorised Access
- Reselling, sublicensing, or providing access to the Service to third parties without our prior written authorisation.
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits, free trial restrictions, or enforcement actions.
2.7 Interference with Service Operation
- Deliberately introducing excessive load, denial-of-service conditions, or any activity that degrades the Service for other users.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Service, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
3. Resource Limits
The Service operates under a fair use principle. Specific resource limits (such as storage quotas, API rate limits, and user counts) are defined by your subscription plan and may be updated from time to time.
- API rate limiting: API requests are subject to rate limits as documented in our API documentation. Sustained requests exceeding the published limits may be throttled or temporarily blocked.
- Storage: Each plan includes a defined storage allocation. If you approach or exceed your storage limit, we will notify you and may restrict further uploads until additional storage is provisioned or existing data is removed.
- Fair use: Features described as “unlimited” in plan descriptions are subject to a fair use policy. Use that significantly exceeds typical patterns may be reviewed and discussed with you.
4. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in the following actions, at our discretion:
- Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we may issue a written warning via email detailing the violation and required corrective action.
- Suspension: For repeated or more serious violations, we may temporarily suspend your access to the Service until the issue is resolved.
- Termination: For severe or persistent violations, or where violations pose a risk to other users or the platform, we may terminate your account in accordance with the Terms of Service.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of a violation and provide an opportunity to remedy it before taking enforcement action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service, its users, or third parties.
5. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, or if you believe another user is misusing the Service, please report it to us immediately at [email protected]. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
Reports should include as much detail as possible, including the nature of the violation, any relevant evidence, and the identity of the parties involved (if known).
