OpsMerge vs ConnectWise

The deepest ecosystem. The longest onboarding.

ConnectWise is the incumbent's incumbent, a deep ecosystem covering RMM, PSA, BCDR, sales, billing and quoting. The trade-off is a tooling estate that takes a year to deploy, a six-figure implementation budget at scale, and pricing that requires three calls to find out.

ConnectWise, known to the long-term hands as the LabTech / ScreenConnect / Manage / Sell stack, is the platform every enterprise-scale MSP eventually evaluates. It earned that position. The PSA is genuinely deep. The integration marketplace is unmatched. The community of MSP partners is the largest in the industry.

The trade-offs are stark for shops under 30 techs. Implementation projects routinely run 6-12 months. Pricing is sales-gated and famously hard to reconcile against feature scope. Each pillar, RMM, PSA, sales, BCDR, has its own SKU, its own login origin, its own release cycle. The ecosystem depth is a feature for shops that staff a ConnectWise admin. It's a tax for shops that don't.

OpsMerge is the opposite trade-off. One platform, one database, one bill, one login. Public pricing in GBP at GA. Onboarding measured in weeks, not financial quarters.

Where ConnectWise is better

  • PSA depth, Manage is the deepest PSA on the market. Full ITIL, workflow customisation, KEDB, CAB, service catalogue, project management.
  • Marketplace breadth, every MSP tool you've ever heard of has a ConnectWise integration.
  • Community, IT Nation, partner forums, the largest MSP user community in the industry.
  • Enterprise fit, at 100+ techs, the depth pays back.

If you're enterprise-shaped, staff a ConnectWise admin, and need every ITIL ceremony, ConnectWise is the right answer.

Where OpsMerge wins

  • One platform, RMM, PSA, billing and portal on one database, not five SKUs stitched together.
  • Public pricing, GBP, monthly or annual, on the page. No quote call.
  • Onboarding in weeks, apply, get admitted, install the agent, you're shipping work.
  • No implementation project, you don't need an external consultancy to stand up OpsMerge.
  • Founder voice, built by an MSP owner. Roadmap reflects what operators ask for, not what enterprise procurement teams demand.
  • Regional data residency, EU and US regions live today; AP on the roadmap.
Pricing posture

OpsMerge vs ConnectWise on pricing

ConnectWise pricing is multi-SKU and sales-gated. Indicative public reports place the bundle in the £50-£120 per technician per month range depending on volume, term and which modules are included, before implementation cost.

OpsMerge
Single platform, public GBP pricing at GA
ConnectWise

OpsMerge

OpsMerge

Migration

Coming from ConnectWise? Here's what changes.

ConnectWise migrations are the longest in the segment because the customisation depth is the deepest. We'll be honest about what fits and what doesn't.

  1. Scope conversation

We map your Manage workflows, custom fields and integrations against what OpsMerge does today. Gaps are flagged before you commit.

  2. Agent swap

Uninstall the ConnectWise agent (Automate / RMM), install OpsMerge agent. Both can co-exist during pilot.

  3. Ticket and asset history

CSV / API export from Manage maps to OpsMerge fields. Custom-field translation documented per migration.

  4. Workflow rebuild

Heavy ConnectWise workflow customisations rarely translate one-to-one. We help simplify or rebuild.

  5. Scripts

Automate scripts (PowerShell) paste in mostly unchanged; LabTech-specific functions need rewriting.

Realistic timeline: Honest answer: 2-6 months staged for a typical 10-tech MSP. The customisation depth drives the variance.

What MSPs migrating from ConnectWise tell us

Beta is closed and quiet. Once we have real customer quotes, they'll land here. We don't fake them.

Common questions

  • Is OpsMerge a replacement for the whole ConnectWise stack?
Honest answer: no. OpsMerge replaces ConnectWise RMM, Manage and the billing layer. ConnectWise Sell, BCDR and the wider portfolio sit outside our scope today.
  • How long is a ConnectWise to OpsMerge migration?
Two to six months staged for a typical 10-tech MSP. The variance is driven by how deeply you customised Manage workflows. We will be honest about gaps before you commit.
  • What about ConnectWise Manage workflow customisation?
Heavy workflow customisations rarely translate one-to-one. We help simplify or rebuild during onboarding. If your operation is load-bearing on Manage workflows, OpsMerge will be a downgrade.
  • Will OpsMerge be cheaper than ConnectWise?
For 1-30 tech shops, yes, after removing the implementation project cost and the multi-SKU portfolio. At enterprise scale the calculation is more nuanced.
  • What is ConnectWise genuinely better at?
PSA depth (Manage is the gold standard), marketplace breadth, MSP community presence. We will not pretend otherwise.
