OpsMerge vs HaloPSA

HaloPSA's PSA is excellent. The RMM is a bolt-on.

If you want the deepest PSA on the market with all the ITIL ceremony, HaloPSA is hard to beat. If you want RMM and PSA as peers — same database, same SPA, no integration glue — OpsMerge is the simpler shape.

HaloPSA is genuinely a great PSA. Deep ITIL features (CAB, change management, problem records, KEDB), sophisticated workflow engine, mature reporting. If you're a 50+ technician shop with full ITIL ceremony, it's a credible top choice.

The RMM story is different. HaloPSA's RMM is a more recent addition and the integration to the PSA still feels like an integration — not a co-equal feature. For MSPs who want a simpler shape with both pillars built together, OpsMerge fits better.

Where HaloPSA is better

  • PSA depth — full ITIL ceremony, CAB, KEDB, service catalogue, multi-board routing, deep workflow engine.
  • Reporting maturity — bespoke report builder, dashboards as code.
  • Mobile — native mobile app.
  • Enterprise readiness — fits 50+ technician shops with formal change-management discipline.

If you need that depth, OpsMerge isn't the right tool yet. We're explicit about the gap.

Where OpsMerge wins

  • RMM and PSA as peers — built together, one platform, no integration glue.
  • Asset-driven billing — live agent count → invoice line, automatic.
  • Public GBP pricing at GA — no quote call.
  • Founder accessibility — small enough to ship a fix the same week you report a bug.
  • Regional data residency — your data lives in the region you signed up to. EU and US regions live today; AP region on the roadmap.

Migration

Coming from HaloPSA? Here's what changes.

This migration is the highest-effort of the four because HaloPSA shops typically have the most workflow customisation. We'd suggest a longer staged rollout and a phased cut-over by ticket type.

  1. You give up ITIL ceremony depth (for now)

Be explicit about what you would lose — CAB, KEDB, service catalogue.

  2. You gain a tighter RMM ↔ PSA loop

    Tickets reference live assets directly.

  3. Ticket history

HaloPSA exports map to OpsMerge fields; custom workflow logic translates only partially.

  4. Asset metadata

    Clean translation.

Realistic timeline: 4-6 weeks staged. Phased cut-over by ticket type recommended.

What MSPs migrating from HaloPSA tell us

Beta is closed and quiet. Once we have real customer quotes, they'll land here. We don't fake them.

Common questions

  • Is OpsMerge as deep as HaloPSA on PSA features?
No, and we do not pretend to be. HaloPSA has a decade-plus head start on PSA depth. Our PSA is fit for small-to-mid MSPs without full ITIL ceremony.
  • Will OpsMerge add CAB / KEDB / service catalogue?
On the post-GA backlog. We are tracking the demand from beta applications. We would rather ship them properly than ship them as feature checkboxes.
  • Should I migrate from HaloPSA?
Only if your shop is small-to-mid and the workflow customisation depth is not load-bearing. If you have built your operations on top of HaloPSA workflow engine, the migration is heavy.
  • Can I run both during migration?
Yes. Standard staged-rollout pattern, longer timeline given the customisation depth.
